Growing up in a family of seven may have been chaotic at times, but to these three sisters, it was nothing short of a good time. It is through their differences, these siblings were able to learn, grow and become the unique, driven individuals they are today. In these differences, beauty arises and Annie Claire and I were inspired to learn more about these three sisters. In celebration of SoSis’ first birthday, we’ve partnered with powerful sisters around us to learn from them and get inspired as Annie Claire and I go into year #2 with even more energy and determination than year #1. Check out our first post in this series where we featured Catherine M. Hollander and Christina Mahtook. Next up on our list of influential women and sisters – Sarah Barnett, Kerrie Knox and Melanie Curtin! SEVEN UNDER ONE ROOF Sarah, Melanie and Kerrie are three of a larger bunch of Barnett siblings. Not able to make this photoshoot because of distance were their three other sisters, Amie Crabtree, Julie Herndon and Jennie Staton. Then there is Seth Barnett, #7, the only boy and the baby of the bunch. When chatting with the Barnett siblings, they reminded me that even they forget how many of them there are! Kerrie is #2, Melanie is #4 and Sarah is #6. I guess you can say we kept things even for this feature! A TEACHER/BLOGGER, A YOGA INSTRUCTOR AND A REAL ESTATE AGENT  It was clear the minute we met these three ladies that they were different in so many beautiful ways. Sarah is a style blogger and middle school teacher. We met Sarah at one of our first pop-up shops and later partnered with her and her blog, Think Twice Style (see her post about SoSis here). The first time we met, she mentioned she had a lot of sisters - we just weren't aware what "a lot" meant at the time. She was kind enough to rope Kerrie and Melanie in on this sister feature as well. Kerrie is a yoga instructor and homeschool teacher to her 15-year-old daughter. She says she spends most of her time carting around her daughter from one team practice to another. I'm sure many working moms with 15-year-0lds can relate. Melanie is a real estate agent and mother of two boys. She says she's a taxi - to clients and kids - day in and day out. THEY'RE MORE THAN SISTERS - THEY'RE FRIENDS  One thing that shined when talking with Sarah, Kerrie and Melanie was the fact that they are more than just sisters - they choose to be great friends too. Kerrie said, "Your sisters are like built-in friends. No matter how long you go without talking, you can pick up right where you left off. We always have each other's back." I think this is special and unfortunately not always the case - especially in such a big family. THANK YOU SARAH, KERRIE AND MELANIE Thank you for taking the time away from your day-to-day responsibilities and giving it to SoSis and all of our sistas. Meeting you was refreshing and incredibly inspiring!
